Maplesoft™ today announced the release of the pilot version of MapleSim™, a revolutionary multi-domain modeling and simulation tool, which will dramatically reduce the time taken to bring products to market. With the cutting-edge physical modeling techniques in MapleSim, users can re-create a system diagram on a screen using components that represent a physical model. Systems of equations representing the model and its dynamic behaviour are automatically generated.
With the new GGTronic, Italian OEM GIANA decided to position itself on the higher level of machine-tools
technology. »It is the only way to survive» explains Giulio Maria Giana, the company manager and technical
director. As this milling & turning equipment in one set solution for big mechanical parts, very high rigidity becomes
obviously a crucial design feature. Positioning has also to be very precise, reaching values as low as ±0.01mm,
with a repeated accuracy of ±0.005 mm. To achieve these performances, GIUSEPPE GIANA went one step ahead
by implemented REDEX-ANDANTEX´s TwinDRIVE on the machine, the original rack and pinion drive solution.
With its ability to control up to 128 axes simultaneously, the Power PMAC is an easy-to-configure controller -whether
for basic or sophisticated tasks. Thanks to a new generation of embedded Power PC microprocessors,
the Power PMAC has superior computational capabilities together with a high level of peripheral integration.
Now operating on more than 300,000 pumps worldwide, the new Ingersoll Rand motor technology for
diaphragm pumps is a true success story. The technology combats three confounding pump motor issues:
freezing, stalling and poor energy efficiency. With the purchase price of diaphragm pumps comprising as little
as 5% of the overall cost of ownership, the benefit of Ingersoll Rand´s innovative technology is clear.
Operating for five years on all Expert series pumps (3/8´´ to 2´´ for non metal pumps, ½´´ to 3´´ for metal
pumps), it has brought operating costs down by 20% to 50 %.
The new Héliotherme 4000 air heater from CIAT achieves energy savings of the order of 20% compared with the previous generations through the use of the ROTOREX fan-motor assembly and the JET+ airflow system. It is the ideal technical and economic solution for heating premises by hot air ventilation in winter and cooling by circulation of cold air in summer. In its ATEX version, Héliotherme 4000 is intended primarily for industrial premises with external production of hot water, chilled water or, more generally, thermal fluid: workshops, storage warehouses, etc.
Corus Rail has just completed delivery, spread over five years, of 130 000 metal railway sleepers for the
renovation of the Corsican railway. Made in Scunthorpe, England, the sleepers have the advantage of being
fire resistant, are specially adapted for metric gauge tracks and most importantly, are easy to handle as they
are two times lighter than wooden sleepers.
