The advantages and features of the RF RC 10 switchgear are now also available in a non-contact magnetic switching device. Although the RF RC 10 “Wireless Cube” position switch is still very new in the marketplace, it has already proved itself in a number of different applications.
On February 7, 2008 an explosion occurred at the Imperial Sugar Company refinery in Portwentworth,
Georgia, USA. The explosion left 13 people dead and 42 people injured with most of the plant destroyed.
The investigation showed that there was a small explosion within the plant, which was not serious, but the
result of the shock and the small fire that preceded it, caused the sugar dust to be suspended in the air,
which caught on fire and followed the cloud of dust throughout the plant.
The well-known BX4 family of brushless DC servo motors welcomes an innovative new member. With a 22 mm module, the 2232/2250…BX4 CSD/CCD is the world’s smallest brushless motor with integrated motion controller in uniform-diameter construction. It combines all the advantages of BX4 technology in a tiny package: long service life, high non-cogging torque and freedom from adhesives. Inaugurated at the end of 2008 at CERN, the LHC is the largest particle accelerator in the world with a
circumference of nearly 27 kilometres. To monitor and control its ventilation systems and the 200 associated
programmable controllers, CERN has chosen the PcVue supervision software developed by ARC
Informatique and installed on-site by Assystem France. PcVue is perfectly suited to the dimensions of this
type of application, while offering competitive installation and operating costs.

The MEIJE company, an integrator in the VERLINDE after-sales service network, has installed a 20-ton-capacity semi-gantry crane on an 80-meter runway, located on the EDF (French electric company) hydroelectric dam in Truel, in southern France. The crane is equipped with two radio-controlled tandem VERLINDE VT4 hoists.
